January is for Pet Dress Up
January is National Train Your Dog Month. And if that weren’t enough, on January 14, those who enjoy costume themed celebrations can celebrate National Dress Up Your Pet Day. Start planning your costume now!
Dogs Dig February (or they should)
February is one our favorite months, and not just for the traditional “love” theme. February is National Pet Dental Health Month, and you’ll hear a lot from us about your dog’s oral health and hygiene during those special weeks. February also brings ample opportunities for fun with:
- Thank a Mailman Day (February 4)
- Love Your Pet Day (February 20) and
- International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day (February 23)
March is for Pet Sitters
Pet sitters are those wonderful folks who make sure our pets get all the love and quality attention they crave when we aren’t around. These fine people are honored with Professional Pet Sitters Week early in March. And less the furry family members be left out, we also recognize:
- What If Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day (March 3)
- National Puppy Day (March 23)
April Has Everything Pet
April is a blowout month for pet-themed celebrations. April is National Pet Month, National Pet First Aid Awareness Month, Prevention of Animal Cruelty Month, and Prevent Lyme Disease in Dogs Month. Under these overarching animal themes, April encompasses all sorts of holidays such as Be Kind To Animals Week, National Pet Day (April 11), National Pet ID Week, National Scoop the Poop Week, National Animal Control Appreciation Week, and National Kids and Pets Day (April 26).
Although some of these declared holidays may be a bit tongue in cheek, clearly animal lovers everywhere like to celebrate and support their fur buddies as much as we do. Do you celebrate any animal holidays? Let us know about your favorites!
